The conference put special emphasis on the future and meaning of smart factories and their benefits to society at large. More specifically, the conference touched upon the role which smart factories play in the EU research and innovation agenda, including the various actions for smart factories at EU level, as well as the responsibilities to be performed by DIHs to support smart factories. More so, the event was a unique opportunity to learn from excellent examples of research and innovation for smart factories from Slovenia and Lithuania.
